Quick answer: when are the OxfordAQA May/June 2026 exams?

The OxfordAQA May/June 2026 written exam series begins on Monday 27 April 2026 and ends on Tuesday 09 June 2026. The timetable below includes International GCSE, International AS and International A-level papers.

Important centre rule: OxfordAQA publishes the start time in UK time. Schools may start an exam up to 30 minutes before, or delay it by up to 30 minutes after, the published start time without notifying OxfordAQA. Your statement of entry and centre instructions should be treated as the final operational timetable.

For Dubai and the UAE, the May/June period normally falls during UK daylight saving time, so 08:00 UK time is usually 11:00 UAE time. Still, students should follow the exact timing issued by their school or exam centre.

How to use this timetable correctly

A timetable is useful only when it is matched with your personal statement of entry. Follow these steps to avoid missing a paper, entering the wrong room or planning revision for the wrong date.

  1. Match every unit code. Compare each code in the timetable with your statement of entry. For example, GCSE Mathematics Core and Extension papers have different unit codes, so do not rely only on the subject name.
  2. Confirm your local start time. OxfordAQA publishes the exam start time in UK time. Your school or exam centre will confirm the actual local start time, room and arrival deadline.
  3. Check clashes early. If two exams appear in the same session, tell your exams officer immediately. Centres have formal procedures for supervised breaks and clash management.
  4. Plan revision by paper, not just by subject. Write the exact paper name, date and duration into your study calendar, then revise the content tested in that specific paper.
  5. Recheck official updates. Before publishing or printing a final calendar, compare this guide with the official OxfordAQA timetable and your centre’s latest instructions.

Time conversion and planning formulas

These simple formulas help students convert the published UK start time and estimate when a paper may finish. They are planning tools only; your centre instructions remain final.

Local start-time conversion

\[ T_{\text{local}} = T_{\text{UK}} + \Delta_{\text{timezone}} \]

Where \(T_{\text{local}}\) is your local start time, \(T_{\text{UK}}\) is the published UK start time, and \(\Delta_{\text{timezone}}\) is the time difference between your location and the UK on that exam date.

For the UAE during the May/June exam period, a practical planning estimate is: \[ 08{:}00_{\text{UK}} + 3\ \text{hours} = 11{:}00_{\text{UAE}} \]

Estimated finish time

\[ T_{\text{finish}} = T_{\text{start}} + D_{\text{exam}} \]

Where \(T_{\text{finish}}\) is the estimated finish time, \(T_{\text{start}}\) is the centre-confirmed start time, and \(D_{\text{exam}}\) is the exam duration. For example, if a 2-hour paper starts at \(11{:}00\), then: \[ 11{:}00 + 2\ \text{hours} = 13{:}00 \]

Revision block estimate

\[ B = \left\lceil \frac{R}{D} \right\rceil \]

Where \(B\) is the number of revision blocks needed per day, \(R\) is the number of remaining revision tasks for that paper, and \(D\) is the number of days left before the exam. The ceiling symbol \(\lceil \ \rceil\) means round up, because a partial task still needs a full study block.

Student preparation guide for OxfordAQA 2026

Four weeks before your first paper

  • Create a subject-by-subject checklist using the unit codes in the timetable.
  • Separate content revision from timed-paper practice.
  • Confirm calculator, dictionary, labelling and stationery rules with your centre.

Two weeks before your first paper

  • Move from broad revision to paper-specific practice.
  • Practise one timed response for each written paper.
  • Make a clash list if two papers appear close together.

The day before each paper

  • Check the paper code, date, arrival time and room.
  • Prepare approved stationery and identification.
  • Stop heavy revision early and focus on sleep.

On exam day

  • Arrive early enough for registration and seating.
  • Do not rely on friends’ timings; follow official centre instructions.
